Process Safety Training for Frontline Leaders

The course

Risk-based process safety, taught to the people who carry it on shift. The course follows the book: the foundations of hazard, risk, and safeguards, the twenty RBPS elements, the technical safety topics frontline leaders are expected to manage, and the leadership work of running a unit under real production pressure. Every session is anchored in a CSB incident investigation and built for discussion, not lecture. I wrote the book, and I teach every session myself.

The course starts when you enroll

This is not a sign-up-and-show-up class. Enrollment opens a learning arc:

• participant survey to tailor the course to the audience

• pre-read material for preparation

• live virtual kickoff meeting ahead of the course

• classroom sessions led by me

• follow-up virtual session a few weeks later to bring back what participants tried on shift

I can also calibrate the material to your company's own process safety policies and internal guidance.

Choose the room

You choose between two delivery environments for the same course.

In the traditional training environment, you set the participant mix: frontline leaders, managers, engineers, maintenance, process safety professionals, anyone who benefits.

In the facilitated learning team environment, the class is limited to peer frontline leaders. No managers, no process safety staff. Drawing on Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) practice, this room is built for candid discussion of how work actually gets done on the unit. What's said in the room stays in the room; findings go back to the organization as themes, never attributed to individuals.

Same content, same learning objectives. The difference is the room, and for some organizations the room is everything.
