About Me

I am a process safety engineer with more than forty years of experience supporting refinery, chemical, and offshore operations. My work has focused on helping operating organizations manage risk, improve reliability, and protect people through sound engineering and practical safety management.

My career has centered on the interface between operations and safety. I translate regulatory requirements into systems and practices that work in the field. I have led organizations through compliance with OSHA’s Process Safety Management standard and EPA’s Risk Management Program, providing technical and leadership support from the control room to the executive level.

I have also supported legal and investigative teams during major industry incidents, including BP Texas City and Deepwater Horizon, bringing engineering judgment and technical clarity to complex regulatory and operational issues.

Today, my efforts are focused on advancing process safety performance through better learning, communication, and analysis. I am increasingly using modern tools, including artificial intelligence, to improve how organizations understand risk and make decisions.

At heart, I am a teacher. My goal is to share hard-earned lessons from decades in the field to help engineers, operators, and leaders make sound, defensible decisions that protect people, assets, and reputation.
